Document Reception 
The filing and recording of all documents affecting real estate ownership and transfer throughout Sussex County. 

Business Trade Names 
All new businesses established in Sussex County must file a Trade Name with the County Clerk. Cost of certification is $50, payable by cash or money order. Click here for a printable Trade Name form. 

Notary Public 
Individuals who wish to become a Notary Public may seek the assistance of the County Clerk during the application process and have the oath of office administered at the Clerk's Office. 

Accessing Public Records 
The public can locate a document on record with the County Clerk via a computer index for Deeds and Mortgages starting 1964 to present. The lien index is available from 1995.
